Rider Fined At Awapuni
(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, Dec. 27. A. T. Jones, the rider of High Disdain in the Boron Handicap at Awapuni, was charged under rule 289 with causing interference to Scramble (N. E Eastwood) outside the final furlong of the race Evidence was heard from the stipendiary steward, assistant stipendiary steward (Mr A. E. Bird), the riders mentioned, and B. s. Dodds (Bandolero). The committee found Jones guilty as charged, but took Into account the fact that the interference was contributed to by Bandolero stopping. Accordingly Jones was fined the sum of £2O.
