Charity Screening The charity screening of “The Millionairess” in the Hollywood Theatre, Sumner, last night realised £133 from a full house for the wife and family of Mr Owen Alfred Osborne, who was killed below Moncks Spur road last Monday after his truck had run away. The performance was arranged by Sumner and Redcliffs residents who have formed an appeal committee, and the manager of the theatre (Mr H. L. Masters) and his staff, who gave the use of the theatre and their services free of charge. A further £llO in donations has been received by the convener of the committee (Mr N. S. Dench), with promises of further ainounts. Pool Attendances Although attendance at the Jellie Park swimming pool yesterday failed to come within reach of the previous Sunday’s total of 3100, many of the 2550 who did attend stayed for a considerable part of the day. The sunny and sheltered area surrounding the pool was almost as popular as the pool itself. Attendance at the Centennial Pool, at 1100, was slightly below the usual summer Sunday figure—probably because of the large number of people away on holidays.
