Car Hits Pole, Two Hurt
(From Our Own Reporter) TIMARU, Dec. 25.
Two apprentice mechanics, one of whom is reported to be in a serious condition, were admitted to the Timaru Hospital soon after 2.45 a.m. today after the car in which they were travelling south towards Timaru ran off the road opposite the Puhuka settlement and struck a telegraph pole.
They are lan Allep McPherson, aged 20, of 1 Short street, Timaru, who suffered head injuries and a fractured femur, and whose condition is serious: and Gary lan Bennett, aged 19, of 35 Oxford street, Timaru, who suffered head injuries and whose condition is satisfactory.
