LEAGUE WORLD CUP IN 1967

(N.Z.P.A.- Reuter—Copyright) SYDNEY, December 23. The Australian Rugby League Board of Control yesterday agreed to help run the World Cup in 1967, the Sydney morning newspaper, “Daily Telegraph,” said today.

Australia and New Zealand will be host nations.

The World Cup had been scheduled for next year, but plans collapsed when Australia declared it did hot want to take part. Australia had wanted to concentrate on local football next year, the “Daily Telegraph” said. The newspaper also reported that the board yesterday rejected a move from England for readjustment of test gates on tours.

England suggested the touring team receive 60 per cent of gates. The board insisted that the present terms, under which the touring team receives 55 per cent of the gross takings for tests, must stand.
