HONG KONG ORPHANS
Four Coming To S.L
Four Hong Kong orphans will arrive in Christchurch on New Year's Eve to live in New Zealand. All have been adopted by South Island families.
The children have been brought to New Zealand by the National Council of Churches, and are the last of 40 who have come in groups of five during the last few years. Their trip was postponed several times, on the last occasion because of measles.
“This is the end of the project as far as we are concerned,” said the Rev. D. M. Taylor, secretary of the National Council of Churches, yesterday.
