Afternoon Rain
A moderate shower of rain, which began about 3.45 p.m., made conditions late yesterday afternoon unpleasant. Skies were cloudy all day, and winds were mainly light southerly. The temperature at Harewood at 9 a.m. was 60 degrees, rising to 64 degrees by midday and remaining constant until 3 p.m. By 4 p.m. it had dropped to 58 degrees. The temperature in the Botanic Gardens at 3 p.m. was 61 degrees, and on the Government Life building it was 60 degrees at 4.30 p.m.
