Permits are ONLY obtainable from the County’s Chief Fire Officer, Mr E. F. Johnson. This also includes fires in any kind of incinerator or container.

County Council proposes at Its meeting to be held on January 8, 1965, to consider a motion to apply to the Local Authorities Loans Board for its Sanction to the borrowing of the sum of £lO,OOO for the purpose of meeting the repayment to County Fund Account, of moneys expended on construction of Balmoral Water Race, and for headworks protection, and twoyear maintenance period, over whole works included in Balmoral Water Race District. The security of the Loan shall be a special rate of ,56d, ,28d and .09d in the pound (£) on the Capital Value of all rateable lands In Classes A, B, C lands respectively in the Balmoral Water Race Distrcit. Any person having any objection to the proposed application is called upon to submit the same in writing to the Amur! County Council, Culverden, not later than the day preceding the said meeting. HANSBY, County Clerk. 6282 PAPARUA COUNTY COUNCIL FIRE RESTRICTIONS PURSUANT to section 20 of the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1955, the lighting of fires in the open throughout that area of the Paparua County Included In the Selwyn Fire Group is prohibited except during the hours between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. as from Wednesday, December 23. Written permits to burn during the hours 6 p.m. to 8 p in. are not required but verbal permission for the lighting of fires must be obtained from the Area Warden. Such permission does not relieve the person lighting the Are from full responsibility for keeping the fire under control.
