BOY’S LIFE SAVED

f.V Z. Press Association!

AUCKLAND, Dec. 21

Prompt action by the caretaker of Mount Roskill Grammar School saved the life of a child pulled unconscious from the swimming pool yesterdayafternoon.

Richard Halloran, aged 8, was pulled from the water by Christopher Curley, a 17-year-old schoolboy, who saw him on the bottom of the deep end of the pool while swimming under water. He pulled the lad out and the caretaker, Mr R. S. Jackson, applied mouth-to-mouth resuscitation until an ambulance arrived to take him to hospital.
