Baxter Takes 6 for 0
In a long and successful career, the wellknown cricket administrator, I. A. Baxter, has never achieved the startling figures he obtained for Old Boys against West-University in a President’s grade game on Saturday. His only concession to the other side was a wide—described by one of his colleagues as very wide.
His actual bowling figures were: 6, 6. 0, 6. Baxter bowls left-arm slow—very slow, according to the same colleague. And there was a feeling that his success might be attributable to development of the chinaman: Mr Baxter recently went with a New Zealand trade mission to the east. He bowled four batsmen, had one stumped, and one trod on his wicket.
