Six Injured In Collision
Six persons were injured in a head-on collision on the Main South road at Rolleston about 9.30 p.m. yesterday. All the injured were in one car. A boy, Daryle Foote, of 42 Flemington avenue, North Beach, suffered head injuries and shock. Mrs Edna Foote, of the same address, suffered head injuries and shock. They were admitted to the Christchurch Hospital.
Herbert Foote suffered minor head injuries, Janet and Helen Foote and Sandra Francis Lovell, of 306 Bower avenue, suffered shock. They were treated at the Christchurch Hospital. The other car was driven by Ronald William Smith, of Michael street, Rakaia.
Both cars were badly damaged.
Truck Overturns.—Serious head injuries were suffered by Daniel Brent Dodds, of 20 Harborough street, Timaru, when the light truck he was driving north on Deans avenue overturned on the Blenheim road roundabout at 6.20 p.m. on Saturday. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital where his condition was reported last evening as satisfactory. Internal Injuries.—Anthony Kotlowski, of the Railway Hotel, Amberley, suffered internal injuries when the car he was driving rolled over at the corner of the Main North road and the Amberley beach road about 12.15 a.m. yesterday. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. Head Laceration.—Harold Sutherland, of 19 Heath street, suffered a laceration to the head when a car and a taxi collided at the corner of Cambridge terrace and Gloucester street on Saturday. He was treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Cyclist Hurt—An arm injury was suffered by Edward Norman McNabb, of 65 Emmitt street, when his bicycle and a car collided at the corner of Hammersley avenue and Marshland road about 6 p.m. on Saturday. He was treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Strick By Car.—Leg injuries and shock were suffered by Rosina Long, of 12 Stenness avenue, Somerfield, when she was struck by a car outside the Papanui R.S.A. Hall about 1.35 a.m. yesterday. She was treated at the Christchurch Hospital.
Head Abrasions. Hugh Roberts, of 135 King street, suffered abrasions to the head when his motor-scooter and a car collided at the corner of
Moorhouse avenue and Montreal street about 11.30 a.m. yesterday. He was treated at the Christchurch Hospital.
