Another Fine Victory The Canterbury junior tennis player, J. Martin, is in brilliant form for his visit to Wellington at the week-end to appear before the selectors of the Linton Cup boys’ team to go to Australia in January. In a senior ranking match last week he beat the province’s top player, W. Thom, 6-3, 6-2, and last evening he beat B. Aldridge, another leading player, with the loss of only one game. Results were:— Men.—C. G. Judge beat M. Agar, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1; J. Martin beat B. Aldridge, 6-1, 6-0; W. Edgecumbe beat J. Duggan, 6-3, 6-8, 7-5; A. Brooks beat G. Boddy, 6-3, 7-5; P. Angland beat P. Boatwood, 8-6, 6-0; J. Cullington beat I. Stanton, 6-4, 6-3; V. Price beat L. Legge, 0-6, 6-3, 8-6; J. Dickie beat J. Taylor, 6-1, 6-3; G. Radley beat J. Griffiths, 6-1, 6-4: G. Shaw beat R. Rodgers, 6-1, 6-3; E. Ogier beat R. Stanton, 6-2, 6-4. Women.—Mrs L. Buxton beat Miss A. Woods, 6-4, 6-0: Miss J. Hatch beat Miss J. Bishop, 6-3, 6-1; Miss F. Thompson beat Miss P. Kerr. 6-0, 6-1. Judge Replaced A. Brooks will replace C ,G. Judge in the Canterbury representative tennis team to play Otago at Wilding Park this week-end. Judge is not available. A town team to play at Darfield on Sunday was announced last evening as follows: Men.—D. Wadman, B. Prisk, R. Quinn, D. Macdonald (captain), D. Ferguson, P. O’Malley. Women.—Miss S. Jordan, Mrs N.
