Queen To Give Scholarships (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright* LONDON, December 7. The Queen is to finance a scheme to send young British artists abroad to further their studies, the "Daily Mail” reported. The money—4l scholarships of £lOO each—will come from the 2s 6d a head admission charge to the Queen’s art gallery at Buckingham Palace. The newspaper estimated that since the gallery was opened in July, 1962, 750,000 people had paid more than £90,000 to see the three exhibitions mounted there.
