U.K. EXPORTS FALL
Imports Stay - High (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, Dec. 7. Britain’s exports fell and Imports remained high in the four months from July to October, the Board of Trade said here today. Exports of raw materials fell nearly 5 per cent and exports of manufactured goods continued the earlier fall. Exports of machinery and transport equipment also con-
tinued to fall and the high rates of textile and metal shipments were not maintained. The board said imports in the July-October period remained high, but the growth had slowed and “may have stopped in the last few months.” Imports of basic materials were down 3 per cent.
