Radio Workers
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 27.
Wage increases ranging from 7s 6d a week for assemblers to 13s 6d for designers are provided for in a award for radio workers released today by the Arbitration Court.
Minimum wages for female adult assemblers are £lO Is 6d, for male assemblers £l4 Os lOd, and designers £lB 13s lid. A new class of worker known as an installer and who is engaged in the erection, repair or alteration of radio and television aerial systems is provided for. The award embodies conciliation agreement.
The wage rates prescribed in the award are riot to be increased by application of the Court’s recent 6 per cent General Wage Order.
