LITTER ON ROADS
Move On Penalty A proposal that the maximum penalty for throwing litter on the highway be raised from £lO to £5O is being considered by the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Seath). The proposal was made by the joint standing committee of the North and South Island Motor Unions. It told the Minister that more severe penalties were enforced overseas, and a higher penalty was needed in New Zealand to combat what seemed to be an increasing tendency to throw litter on the roads. Moral light is the radiation of the diviner glory.—Thomas Dick.
