J (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) SYDNEY, Nov. 27 A cooling southerly wind overnight gave New South Wales some relief today from yesterday’s sweltering heat. The top temperature for Sydney yesterday was 101 degrees. At 10 p.m. yesterday the temperature had dropped to 91 degrees, ft dropped a further 20 degrees with the arrival of the southerly. The I temperature in Sydney today I was expected to reach 75 dei grees. The heat wave brought the city its hottest November day since 1957, a record water consumption of about 430 m gallons, hundreds of minor fires and perfect weather for the beach. Heat exhaustion was blamed for the deaths of three people. Some Sydney watersiders and workmen at one factory stopped work because of the heat
