Mairehau Library
The children's section of the Mairehau Public Library had enjoyed a record year, membership totalling 1937 and 20,086 books being issued, said the president of the library (Mr W. A. Sparks) in his report to the annual meeting recently. Mr Sparks said that the main interest in the coming year would centre on the new adult library, which would be opened soon. Officers elected were: president, Mr Sparks: vice-presi-dent, Mr J. A. Wright: supervisors, Mrs G. Wright (children’s library) and Mrs G. Gundry (adult library): secretary, Mr L. W. Dew; treasurer, Mr B. G. Jenkins; committee, Messrs B. Falloon and E. H. Quinn and Mesdamea J. Dukea, D. Eddy, A. GUchzM; and L. C. Parry.
