Lady Nugent For Derby
Lady Nugent, a candidate for the New Zealand Derby Stakes on Saturday night, arrived in Christchurch yesterday. Lady Nugent is unbeaten in her three starts this season and is obviously well above average in ability. She will be driven in the Derby by A. M. Purdon, as her usual driver, C. S. Hunter, has not recovered from an arm injury he received recently. Lady Nugent will remain in Christchurch after the meeting and contest the New Zealand Oaks at the New Brighton meeting on December 5. She will again be driven by Purdon In that race.
