DUTY AS JUROR
Woman Objects To Evidence (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) LONDON, Nov. 18. A judge at the Old Bailey Criminal Court today refused to excuse from jury service a woman who said she objected to listening to “gruesome” evidence, the “Daily Express” reported. She had just taken the oath at the trial of a man accused of murder by stabbing. The woman told Mr Justice Milmo: “I don’t object to capital punishment, but I should not want to go into any gruesome details, or anything like that.” His Honour: “I cannot help you. Jury service is sometimes an unpleasant duty that some people have to perform. Hie mere fact that you don’t like it is not sufficient reason for you not to discharge it.”
