CRUSHED TO DEATH
Caught By Crane Cab (N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. 19. A labourer was crushed to death while working on a New Plymouth construction site today. ’He was Darcy Frederick Bollond, aged 30, of 25 Saxton road, New Plymouth. The accident occurred at 4.5 p.m. at the New Zealand Farmers Fertiliser Company, Ltd.’s works, where a new acid plant is under construction. The man was caught between the moving cab of a mobile crane and the deck of the vehicle on which the crane is transported. The crane is the property of the Swanson Engineering Company, Ltd., which employed the dead man.
