CHRISTMAS CONCERN
(N.Z. Press Association) TIMARU, Nov. 17. A five-hour break yesterday afternoon was the largest rest the 50 men in the crew of the stranded Treneglos had in four days. They were given shore-leave today. The main concern of crew members now is that the ship’s return to the United Kingdom will be delayed. “She was due home on December 23 and I had everything jacked up for Christmas,” said one. “The missus isn’t half going to be put out” Most were concerned that their families in the United Kingdom should know they were safe. The first action of many on going ashore was to cable home.
