Sunset Chief Sold
Sunset Chief, a good third to Donald Dundee and Mr Chips in the second Riccarton Stakes last Friday, has been sold by his Christchurch owner, Mr R. W. Saunders, to Mr B. E. Brown, of Parramatta.
Mr Brown is at present in Christchurch with his trainer, H. Mazoudier, who enjoyed considerable success a few years ago with the New Zea-land-bred Bruce Hall.
Sunset Chief, a colt by Meadow Chief from Coronita, has probably earned himself a start in the New Zealand Derby Stakes on Saturday night He is at present trained by C. S. Donald and it is possible Mazoudier will drive him on Saturday. The sale which was negotiated by National Mortgage and Agency Company, Ltd., was at four figures.
