The Next Champion ?
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, Nov. 18. A slightly-built science student at Melbourne Universty could be the successor to P. G. Snell as the world’s top middle-distance runner, says the “Australian” today. He is 19-year-old Ralph Doubell. After six months’ expert coaching Doubell has lowered his time for the halfmile from more than two minutes to lmin 49.8 sec. He is expected to break four minutes for the mile in the coming season.
