SOUTHERN LEAGUE
Second Plan Announced
Acting on a suggestion from Canterbury, the Otago Football Association has sent invitations to Canterbury, Southland, North Otago and South Canterbury to discuss the formation of a Southern Soccer League next season. Canterbury initiated the movement when it informed Otago it was interested in the formation of a league and proposed that the Otago association, being convenient for all associations interested, should organise the meeting. Meanwhile, Canterbury now finds itself in the middle of two such attempts to set up a Southern League. It has received a letter from the Nelson association which has also written to West Coast, Buller and Marlborough asking their thoughts about the formation of a league on club level between the five associations.
