Y.W.C.A. Group Raises £84
A sewing group of eight Y.W.C.A. members has held a sale of its work for the last 19 years to raise money for the World Fellowship branch of Y.W.C.A. work. Yesterday the group raised £B4. Miss J. Holderness, who has been organiser of the group since it began, is preparing to carry on with her work next year. She has been a Y.W.C.A. member for 20 years.
The group meets fortnightly at the Y.W.C.A. to make dressed dolls, aprons, potholders, toilet bags, shower caps, spectacle cases, children’s garments, knitted garments, and many other novelty articles. The group also serves afternoon tea for those who attend the sale.
