(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 8. Since the start of the liberation of partridges in New Zealand five years ago 5300 of the birds had been liberated In the North and South Islands, said Mr M. F. Foley in a report at the annual meeting of the council of the North Island Acclimatisation Societies at Devonport. The rate of survival of the birds, he said, had been good. Cats, cars and hawks were the chief causes of mortality.
