DOUBLE RECORD BREAKER.—P. M. G. Walsh who broke two shot-put records in the inter-club athletics meeting at Rugby Park on Saturday. In the junior event Walsh put the 121 b weight 50ft 2½in to break the 1959 Canterbury record of D. Auld by 2½ inches. Immediately after, Walsh, also a member of the St. Bede’s College First XV, contested the under-17 competition and set a new grade record of 50ft 2in.
