Third round matches in the Canterbury Cricket Association’s competitions were completed on Saturday. Lower grade results were: Second Grade A Christ's College 202 and 117 (Pickering 44; Hutchison four for 23, Sparks three for 43) beat Technical Old Boys 127 and 162 (Smith 52; Wilder five for 55) outright. Marist 222 and 100 for seven (Hounsell four for 40) beat West-University 167 and 152 (Smales 61; Ryan four for 44) by three wickets. St. Albans 165 and 18 for one beat High School Old Boys 76 and 105 (Frengley 51; Mather three for 26) by nine wickets. Boys’ High School 168 and 125 (Bull 44; Prouting four for 28, McKendry four for 31) beat Lancaster Park 128 (McKendry 45; Hounsell seven for 52) and 78 (Wards 39; Hounsell six for 25) outright. Second Grade B Burnside 189 and 72 (Heseltine five for 20, Wooders three for 16) beat Technical Old Boys 152 (Bennetts 46; Bryce three for 20. Hill three for 39, Reeves three for 47) and 38 for three on the first innings. Marist 148 and 42 for four (Marshall three for 11) beat East-Shirley 99 and 88 (Ward 35; Amos four for 26, Woodlock three for 14) by six wickets. Old Collegians 186 (Kelman three for 29, Simpson four for 38) and 91 for four) beat St. Albans 155 and 120 for five declared (England 57: Gibson four for 40) by six wickets. Second Grade C High School Old Boys 79 and 57 for two beat East-Shirley 48 and 82 (Anderson four for 24) bv eight wickets. St. Andrew’s 279 for seven declared beat St. Albans-Teachers’ College 110 (Smith seven for 45) and 137 (Gerritson 32: Stubbings three for 19) by an innings and 32 runs. Lancaster Park 230 for five declared (Baker 68 not out. Tansley 50; Banks three for 48) and 62 for one (Lawson 34 not out) beat Old Collegians 164 and 124 (Gawlcy five for 19) by nine wickets. Riccarton 122 and 113 for six declared (Cockburn three for 38) beat West-University B 119 and 87 for three (Ash 32; Hean three for 24) on the first innings.

President's Grade Marist 198 for five (O'Brien 92 not out, Hannam 33) beat Lancaster Park 79 (Hannam five for 32, Stonyer five for 37, including hat-trick) on the first innings. West-University A no score stated (Lewis 58, Nee 35: Hobbs three for 22) beat East-Shirley 83 (O’Malley 35; Hickford three for 18, Nee five for 42) on the first innings. Old Collegians 161 (Moor 56, Sheppard 41, Harman 32; Escott five for 44) beat High School Old Boys 120 (Small 50; Moor five for 14) on the first innings.
