Colin Johnston on Saturday won the Australia Professional Golfers’ Association championship at Monash course, Sydney, for the second successive year. The New Zealander, W. J. Godfrey, finished well back in the field. Johnston, the Monash club professional, beat Bruce Devlin by one stroke with a 15-foot birdie putt on the last green. He had a 72-hole total of 275.

Devlin lost the championship on the last hole when he missed the green with a weak chip shot and two-putted for a one-over four, and a total of 276. Godfrey had rounds of 73, 72, 72, 70, and finished 12 strokes behind Johnston. The leading scores were:—
