League Against TV Coverage
Discontinuance of direct telecasts of Rugby League matches is favoured by the Canterbury Rugby League board of control. Members of the board agreed last evening that the direct coverage of matches had “served its purpose” and "hadn’t worked out” as far as League was concerned. The board decided to instruct its delegate to the annual League conference at Auckland, Mr D. C. Wilson, to support a remit from the Waikato League to discontinue the broadcasts.
