Visit By Wedgwood Director
The first sole managing director in the 200-vear history of Josiah Wedgwood and Sons, Ltd., who has not been a member of the familv, Mr Arthur Bryan, will arrive in Christchurch on Thursday Mr Bryan, who is 41, joined the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve in 1941 after a period In Barclays Bank. He joined his present company in 1947 and trained in every department of the factory and studied art In 1959 he was appointed general sales manager, and in 1962 became a director. Mr Bryan has travelled on the company’s business all over the United States and in Canada, Europe, and the British Wes* Indies. This year he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. He Is married, and has two children.
