Chelsea Loses Top Place In Soccer

LONDON, Nov. 1. Manchester United beat the First Division champion, Liverpool, on Saturday, and toppled Chelsea from the head of the English league soccer table. United, putting on an impressive display of fast, incisive football, scored once in each half.
Chelsea, in top position since the end of August, found it hard to get going against Burnley’s well marshalled defence, and dropped both points. Behind Manchester United (24 points) and Chelsea (23) are Nottingham Forest and Leeds United with 20 points. Results: — ENGLISH LEAGUE

Cars Damaged.—Two cars were badly damaged and had to be towed away after they collided at the corner of Bealey avenue and Manchester street about 1 p.m. on Sunday. Grace Elizabeth Swan, of 101 Holly road, and Marie Joy Swan and Theodore Swan, both of 29 Heyward terrace, were treated at the Christchurch Hospital for minor injuries.
