WOMEN’S GAMES
Avon and West Old Girls took the joint lead when both had good wins in the second round of senior matches in the women’s softball competitions. Monowai, which fielded poorly, was no match for Avon. West Old Girls, after being down early in the game, produced a strong batting rally to gain a comfortable victory over Spreydon. Kaiapol won by default front Western Suburbs. Results:— Avon 4, Monowai 1. West Old Girls 9, Spreydon 4. Kaiapol 7, Western Suburbs 0. Other Results Second Grade.—Teachers’ College 8, Spreydon 4: West Old Girls 37, Kaiapol 10; Monowai 19, Avon 15. Third Grade.—Monowai 11, United 5; Avon 25, Templeton 16; Western Suburbs 25, Vanguard 20.
