Disappointing Softball By Spreydon
Spreydon gave a disappointing display in the third round of men’s softball competition. Thought to be able to provide opposition to last year's champion team. Richmond, it succumbed meekly to a batting onslaught and was well beaten by the final innings. Suburbs and Deep Freeze finished almost on terms in a lively clash, but United was well beaten by Avon. Results: Avon 10, United 4. Richmond 11, Spreydon 1. Deep Freeze 6, Suburbs 3. Points: Richmond 3, Avon, Deep Freeze 2, Papanui, Spreydon 1, United, Suburbs 0.
