Field Officer To Forces
Miss June Bissett was bidden farewell by the Geraldine County Red Cross Centre before her departure for Malaysia as field officer to New Zealand forces and their dependants. Presenting her with a writing compendium, the president (Mrs J. W. Davidson) spoke of the honour the centre felt that Miss Bissett had been chosen for this position. She would be a worthy representative of New Zealand.
The Mayors of Geraldine (Mr C. S. Davies) and Temuka (Mr M. A. Cameron) and Mr C. D. Hayhurst, the centre chairman, congratulated Miss Bissett on her appointment and gave their good wishes on behalf of the Temuka and Geraldine members. Miss Bissett thanked the centre for the gift and good wishes and said she was looking forward to her work.
