CHRISTCHURCH READINGS Situation.—A depression is moving southwards on to the North Island. A second depression is centred in the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Canterbury.—South-east winds, fresh in exposed positions; partly cloudy in the south, with scattered drizzle; mainly cloudy elsewhere, with occasional rain; rather mild. Marlborough.—East to south-east winds, strong about the Sounds; elsewhere moderate to fresh; cloudy and mild, with occasional rain becoming more persistent in the east. Nelson.—Fresh south-easterlies in exposed areas; otherwise moderate easterlies; mostly cloudy, with scattered rain; mild temperatures. Buller and Westland. —Moderate variable winds; cloud increasing, with a few patches of light rain developing; mild temperatures. Outlook all districts: unsettled. FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT
