AWARDS TO GRADUATES
Scholarships Total £22,000 (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 31. Scholarships totalling in value £22,000 have been awarded by a group of leading British electrical industry manufacturers to 10 New Zealanders, a representative of the sponsoring firms said today. The scholarships, for a twoyear course of training in the United Kingdom, are awarded annually. The successful scholars, all graduates of Canterbury University, and their study subjects are: Messrs M. Broadly, Dunedin, and P. B. Lake, Hastings, telecommunications; B. A. Carter, Upper Hutt, and J. D. Gibson, Oamaru, electrical engineering; G. L. Coates, Christchurch, and J. W. Kirk, Christchurch, course of study not fixed; A. J. Brown, Christchurch, mechanical engineering; D. E. Fletcher, Christchurch, power engineering; W. S. Riley, Nelson, telecommunications; and P. G. Mimon, Dunedin, industrial electronics.
