MILK FOR CHILDREN
Grocers Give £4250 (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Oct. 30. New Zealand grocers have given £4250 since February for their federation’s “Milk for Millions” fund, said the secretary, Mr R. M. Barker, today. The federation hopes to reach its target of £6OOO by the end of the year. This will provide needy children in South-East Asia with about 30 tons of powder milk. Mr Barker said today that 11 pounds of milk powder would provide a child with a glass of milk a day for about a year. C.0.R.5.0. was distributing the milk powder to accredited church and welfare organisations. Mr Barker has received many letters of appreciation from Asian countries.
