CITY COUNCIL SAURIES
State Increase Passed On The latest State services salary scale has been applied to (Sty Council officers and dated back to April 1. It applies to officers earning up to £2BOO a year, where the increase is £3OO, and down to officers getting £1125 a year, who will receive an increase of £lO. The Town Clerk (Mr C. S. Bowie) will receive about £3050 a year under the new scale. This is more than £240 below the Municipal Association's recommended salary for a town clerk of a municipality as big as Christchurch; and it is below the salaries paid to town clerks of the other main centres.
