Drainage Board Contracts
Tenders for drain extensions in Neill and Brynley streets, Hornby, for a rising main diversion, and for sewer reticulation in the Northcote area were let by the Christchurch Drainage Board on Tuesday evening. The lowest tender, by E. M. Hobson, Ltd., of £4123 12s 2d, was accepted for the Hornby drain extensions. Eleven tenders, ranging to £6536 7s 3d, were received. A tender of £14,303 2s by Mr E. O’Sullivan was accepted for the rising main diversion. Seven tenders ranging from £10,745 17s 4d to £16,895 19s 9d were received. Mr J. C. Haworth was the successful tenderer fbr the Northcote sewer at £28,043 16s. There were five tenders, ranging from £22,803 12s lOd to £30,576.
