Spring Garden Competition
Mr and Mrs D. Sinclair’s property at 182 Wairakei road was the winning entry in the Spring Gardens Competition judged yesterday by Messrs J. Watling, W. R. Dailey, and E. Rodgers, of the Christchurch Beautifying Association.
Mrs N. D. Cam’s property at 147 Waimairi road was second and Mr and Mrs R. P. Clark’s property at 49 Dunedin street was third. All the gardens were judged from the street.
Sister Transferred.—Sister Cataldus of the Little Company of Mary has left Christchurch on transfer to Invercargill after 22 years of service at Calvary Hospital. She was the first member of the community to become almost fully engaged in district nursing and, over a period of 16 years, has helped hundreds of local families.
