Hydroplane Cup To J. Ryan

J. Ryan, driving Miss Cathie, won the A. B. Johnson Hydroplane Cup, leading from start to finish, at the New Brighton Power Boat Club’s opening meeting at Pleasant Point on Saturday. Aqualark (N. Maffey) won the Phillips Rosebowl for C-class runabouts on points over two races.

Conditions were excellent. A visiting boat was Spot (P. Jones) from Lake Waihapo, South Westland. The 75 cu. in hydroplane, powered with a 105 E Anglia engine, went well. A new local boat is Juella (J. Stokes) a 75 cu. in V-bottomed craft powered with a 105 E Anglia motor. Results:—
