The New Zealand golfer, W. J. Godfrey, finished fourth in the North Coast open championship at Coils Harbour today with 284. Godfrey, after a brilliant first round, lapsed in the next two and although he improved today, he had no chance of catching the leaders. The American R. Howell, who led from the start, held off a strong challenge by the New South Wales player, G. E. Dunk to win by a stroke. Howell's total was six strokes better than Godfrey's.
