GATHERING OF YOUTH
Church Conference Next Year
New Zealand’s largest ecumenical youth gathering would be held in Hamilton during Christmas next year, the youth secretary of the National Council of Churches (the Rev. R. M. O’Grady) said in Christchurch last night Registrations were expected to exceed 1500. The Australian Youth Council had indicated it would send a large delegation and several other Pacific and Asian churches would be represented. Three overseas speakers had already been appointed. —Dr. D. T. Niles of Ceylon, secretary of the East Asia Christian Conference, Dr. Soritua Nababan, who is responsible for youth work in East Asia, and the Rev. A. A. Brash, a former general secretary of the National Council of Churches in New Zealand. The conference will open on December 28, 1965, and will continue for eight days.
