Doctors’ Fees

Sir,—My sincere sympathy is with “An Aged Pensioner," but in justice and fairness to the medical practitioners in our district I cannot let his letter pass unchallenged. Most of our medical men are dedicated to their profession, indifferent to material gain, and are particularly kind to the aged and to the pensioners. One country doctor actually lights the fires for incapacitated pensioners and renders many practical homely services, refusing all payment. Let us hope that “Aged Pensioner” will become acquainted with some of these genuine doctors before he is completely on the rocks.—Yours etc., ANCIENT WEST COASTER. October 18, 1964.
