PLASTIC COLLAR
"The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON, Oct. 2. “Can you remove lavatory seats from around people’s heads?” A Wellington hardware firm received this unusual request—and was able to oblige. The inquirer was a Khandallah woman whose three-year-old son had pulled a plastic “junior” toilet seat down as far as his neck.
Dressed in a plastic raincoat . which matched the colour of the toilet seat, the three-year-old was marched to the rear of the shop. After several attempts to remove the seat had failed, a pair of tinsnips was brought into use. Now the hardware firm is convinced that the only way to remove toilet seats, if ever anyone finds one around his neck, is with a pair of tinsnips.
