Strike At G.M.H.
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Oct. 2. Four thousand production workers at the General Mo-tors-Holdens Fishermen’s Bend plant went on strike over a pay claim today, and are expected to stay away from their jobs until at least Monday when' a mass meeting will be held. The men have claimed a flat £3 per week wage increase. The 4000 men will be joined at Monday’s meeting by another 3000 workers from other G.M.H. plants to decide whether to continue the strike.
