Girls Crushed
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) ISTANBUL, October 1. Six girls aged from eight to 17 years were crushed to death under tons of slag as they attempted to pick coal lumps from a mound near Istanbul. The slide was believed to have been touched off by heavy rains, which have caused flooding in lowlying quarters of Istanbul.
