New Officer In Charge The new officer in charge of the Papanui Police Station, Senior-Sergeant O. D. Wilkes, will take up his appointment today. He replaces Sergeant F. G. Heywood, who retired recently. Senior-Sergeant Wilkes began his police service in Christchurch in 1933. He has since served again in Christchurch, in Gore and in Westport, where he was promoted to his present rank in 1955. Chief Superintendent G. W. Alty said yesterday that a sergeant nd additional constables' would also be appointed to the station because of the increased population in the area. Constable H. C. Hollander will also take up his appointment today as officer in charge at Cheviot. He was formerly at Milton. Constable Hollander replaces Constable J. J. Quirke, who retired recently.
