Frogmouth, Not Owl
Mr D. N. Braithwaite, a member of the New Zealand Ornithological Society, says the bird shown in a photograph reproduced yesterday by “The Press” and described as a majestic owl was not an owl but a tawny frogmouth, another native of Australia. The agency which supplied the photograph described the bird as a majestic owl.
